Welcome to the home of the 2009 school production.

 

“Wow, What a first opening night”

“The set and costume were great and the standard of singing was excellent!”

I am just simply blown away by the whole experience of Grease over the past week. I feel we have just seen what will become an historic production for Performing Arts and the school.

Even  back in January during the audition process we couldn’t have hoped for the kind of response we have received from the public about this years show. Over 100 students from every year group were involved in either cast, crew or band working to put the production together.

We have set a high standard with previous productions including Oliver! In 2003 and Bugsy Malone in 2005. Yet this year we have surpassed all expectation with our first real ‘complete’ performance. I mean ‘complete’ because for the first time we have holistically combined all the disciplines in music, drama and dance to create a rocking, punchy and highly professional musical.

The commitment by the students and staff to this show reminds me how lucky I am in my position as Head of Performing Arts to work with so many talented individuals.

It is hard to name just certain stars as to me everyone involved is simply a star.

I feel we will all miss this show very much - it will remain in all our hearts for ever more.

I remained stunned—simply stunned …

Grease will always be the word …
