December 2008:
Former John Bentley student Rob Long, who since moving to London to study at university has been writing his own music and playing in various venues all over London and Europe.
Now known as ‘Bobby Long’, his charm, undeniable talent and popularity has lead to one of his songs being used in the highly anticipated film ‘Twilight’ which will be released on 19th December. The song ‘Let me Sign’ will be sung by the lead actor Rob Pattinson and is also included on the soundtrack released this month.
While at The John Bentley School Rob (Bobby) demonstrated his talent through performance in A level Drama and played the unforgettable character of ‘Mr Sowerberry’ in the 2003 Christmas Show Oliver! and in Raymond Blue Remembered Hills .
We wish him luck for a promising music career and for his final year at University.

2008 CAROL SERVICE - St. Mary's Church, Calne
This year's carol service was held on Wednesday 17th December at St.Mary's Church, Calne. The service was absolutely magical with a good mix of festive music, carols, readings and traditional arrangements by Peter Grant. My thanks goes to Kathryn Lockett for her expert direction in what was another wonderful Performing Arts event.
