Marden House Concert
October 2009
Students from the Year 11 BTEC Performing Arts course and the Year 12 & 13 BTEC National Award course in Music joined the department for another successful concert at Marden House, Calne as part of the annual Music & Arts Festival .
The program of music was wide ranging from classical pieces to Harry Sayers version of the Stevie Wonder classic 'Superstition'.
There was a packed and expectant crowd within Calne's premier venue for music and they were not disappointed.
Alongside instrumental pieces there were some resounding solo's from George Potter and Matt Jopling.
One of the highlight's was Emily Eyre's beautiful rendition of Adele's 'Hometown Glory' expertly accompanied by Nancy Gosling on the Piano.
Once again the students put together a wonderful concert that was fully appreciated by the packed crowd.
Both Kathryn Lockett and Peter Grant were very pleased with the concert and the reception that the students received.
The concert has now become and annual fixture in our performance calendar and we are looking forward to going back next year.
We are also hoping to add 'drama' to the Music & Arts Festival next year by performing a piece of theatre at The Studio. As yet we have not decided what the 'theatre' might be but we are excited to be asked and hope that it will be a welcome addition to this popular festival.
